Hellooooooo World!

So, I guess I blog now?

Here's my attempt! I tried blogging in middle school, back when everyone had Xangas and LiveJournals, but honestly, I'd hardly call that blogging (mostly because I used phrases such as "kk bye 4 now ttyl" and "omg ppl are weird lolz"). In fact, if you said the word "blog" to me back then I probably would have given you a blank stare. Although my knowledge of the social web is a bit different now than it was back then, the one thing that hasn't changed is my need to connect with other people. Although I'm probably one of the quirkiest, most awkward people I know, I've always loved interacting with others, whether it was in person or via AIM, Xanga, LiveJournal, MySpace, Hi5, Friendster, Jewster, Facebook, etc.... you name it, I had it. In fact, I have a vivid memory of being one of the first students in my high school to have a Facebook and anxiously waiting for UAlbany to send me my college e-mail address so I could join the "real" Facebook with the big kids. Once I got to college, I totally embarrassed myself by going up to strangers and telling them we were friends on Facebook. My friends then started affectionately referring to me at the "Facebook Creeper." So, I graduated college and where do I end up?

...as a Social Media Strategist at Likeable Media, an award-winning social media and word of mouth marketing agency in NYC. We help create more transparent, responsive, and likeable companies and brands. I started at Likeable in May 2010 as a Buzz Builder (which is kind of like intern, but cooler. If you want more info. or are interested in applying tweet @Caraizzle).I started working at Likeable full-time in September 2010. Also, we have a pretty awesome blog, so you should probably make me look good and retweet my most recent blog post. #shamlesspromotion

I moved in to an apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in January and I'm LOVING it so far. Living in the city is unreal-- there's always so much to do and even when there's not, there's always something going on around you to distract you from realizing that you're standing on the street, doing nothing. I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I've accidentally started people watching and got completely lost in my own thoughts, hypothesizing why that woman was in such a rush and wondering whether that cowboy is cold when he stands in the middle of Times Square in his underwear. Never a dull moment.

Which brings me to my next point: the name of my blog. Inspired by Carrie Bradshaw...
